Chinatown After Dark @ Far East Plaza

Chinatown After Dark happens on the First Thursdays at Far East Plaza. The monthly event features an opportunity for innovative chefs to test out new menu items and pop-up concepts. Chinatown’s regulars promote specials and other incentives. Each month’s event feature talented musical acts from vocalists to DJs to instrumentals. Good vibes under clear skies in the breezy Southern California evening, join us next time and see what’s new in the neighborhood!

Undiscovered Chinatown Highlighted Walking Tour (CNY) @ Throughout Chinatown

Join us after the tour with the Chinese New Year Festival 12pm-8pm and Golden Dragon Parade 1pm-3pm in Chinatown.

Visit a temple, an herbal shop, art galleries, antique stores, and more! The 1 1/2 hour walking tour will take visitors to a number of off-the-beaten-track points of interest and will guide those interested in shopping to some of Chinatown’s best bargains and its trendiest shops. Wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to wind your way through a myriad of alleyways, plaza stalls, and classical courtyards to discover the charm of L.A’s Chinatown.

Chinese New Year Festival & Parade @ Central Plaza

The festival is easily accessed via Metro Gold Line rail from the Chinatown Station.

* Hill Street from Bernard to Temple
* Ord, Alpine, College & Bernard Streets from North Broadway to North Hill Street
* North Broadway from Bernard Street to Cesar Chavez Avenue
* Cesar Chavez Avenue from North Broadway to Main Street

1pm-3pm: 120th Annual Golden Dragon Parade will begin at the intersection of Hill Street and Ord Street. The Golden Dragon Parade is the oldest celebration of its kind in America. L.A. Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K, Kiddie Run & Bike Ride @ Central Plaza

The L.A. Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K, Kiddie Run & Bike Ride is one of the largest and longest-running Lunar New Year charity run in the nation. 100% volunteer organized, 100% of net proceeds reinvested locally.

Since its inception, the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee, Inc. (LACFRC) has contributed over $500,000 to local elementary schools and community non-profit organizations, providing service and programs to benefit the community.
