The "Moon Festival Moonlight 5K Run/Walk & Bike Ride" just added "Friends Run & Ride Free."
How does it work?
Simple, you register for either the 5K Run and/or Bike Ride and a friend participates for free. If you have registered previously, you can register a friend for free. Just come down on the day of the Moon Festival, Saturday, October 3, 2009.
The folks producing the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival in LA Chinatown wanted to invite more family and friends to join in the fun and cultural activities at the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.
Bike Ride Registration opens at 2pm
5K Run/Walk Registration opens at 5pm

Road Closure
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
5pm-10pm Full Closure will take effect on Broadway between Bernard to College will be closed to traffic.
7pm-10pm Rolling Closure will effect the following streets: Broadway, Cesar Chavez, and Spring for the duration of the 5K Run/Walk. Streets will re-open once all race participants have passed.
*We encourage the public to use the convenient Metro Gold Line; exit at the Chinatown Station. Only 1/2 block from Central Plaza.

6:30pm Acrobatics and Fire: Acrobatic Balancing, Mongolian Contortion, Hand to Hand Acro, Fire Sword
7:00pm Author Jenny Cho will share highlights from her book, "Chinatown in Los Angeles"
7:15pm Ken Chan of Phoenix Bakery, Chinatown’s oldest bakery, demonstrates how traditional moon cakes are made
7:30pm Andrew Chiang (Soul/Pop)
8:00pm Acrobatics and Fire: Handkerchief Spinning Contortion, Shaolin Martial Arts, Fire Poi
8:30pm The 2009 Miss L.A. Chinatown Court will perform a Moon Festival ceremony explaining the history of the popular holiday. Enjoy moon cake samples courtesy of the Chinatown Business Improvement District and the Community Redevelopment Agency.
9:00pm Race Winner Announcement & Trophy Presentation
9:10pm Acrobatics and Fire: 2 Man Hoop Diving, Candelabra Contortion, 2 Man Straw-hat Juggling, Fire Fan

After the Moon Festival event, visitors and participants are encouraged to visit the LA Burning Man DeCompression Festival at the nearby L.A. State Historic Park. The Moonlight 5K Run/Walk circles the event. Show your Moon Festival event BIB and receive a $5 discount toward admission (5pm - Midnight).
