MANAA welcome your input and thoughts on pressing issues regarding the portrayal of Asian Americans in print, radio, television and movies.
Agenda items include:
• The Asian Pacific American Media Coalition and Multi-Ethnic Media Coalition’s meetings with NBC & CBS about their new Fall schedule.
• Controversy over the movie titled “Chink” (made by Asian American filmmakers)
• New coalition plans to write to the new mayor about the non-Asian man playing a geisha in a City-funded video http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2013/05/09/city-of-la-department-of-public-works-under-fire-for-producing-controversial-video-mocking-asians/
• A White Brit playing the role of Khan Noonien Signh in the Star Trek movie
